If adventures do not befall a lady in her own village, she must seek them abroad – Jane Austen.
As I sit here and write this post I can’t quite believe that I am about to set off on a brand new adventure to the other side of the world. I have been waiting in anticipation for this moment for a really, really long time; now that it is here I’m a little bit flabbergasted. It is crazy to think how I sat in my little room in Murcia and wrote down in my diary I want to travel the world.
It was just a sentence back then, something that was altogether unachievable at that point in my life. Then, my parents gave me the first boost I needed; and then after that, I worked my behind off to save a huge portion of what was needed for the trip. Final year of university came and I needed a big summer blow out at the end: Tenerife, Disneyland Paris, Marbella, London and Ibiza all in four months. After that it was back to the Big Dream, the Big Trip. Nearly two years on, here we are…
I’ve written bucket list after bucket list of things I want to do in Australia and travel bucket lists of Europe and South East Asia. This post isn’t so much a bucket list, but more of an OMG I can’t believe I’m going post with a bit of a laid back approach.
Basically, I want to achieve three things whilst I’m out in the world:
explore | experience | have an adventure
I am pretty certain that I will achieve those three things and a hell of a lot more.
At this point in time, I have no idea when my next post will be. I want to keep Fayebeline as much a part of my travel journey as anything else. It can act as a piece of string between Australia and home, just so that I can express whatever I’m feeling and show off amazing sunsets and sea views.
I’m about to sort out what I am definitively packing into my backpack. It has changed a little bit since the last backpack post.
For those I have said see you later to: I’ll see you next year, and I’ll have a tan – and a load of amazing adventures.
Are you going on a dream worldwide trip soon?
Love, Faye x
