What To Wear For The Festive Season | Blogmas Day 7

I get home about four or five Sunday, get dressed and go to the party at The Four Seasons – Tico Torres.

Party season is almost upon us (if not already in full swing) and in between working, sleeping and eating, there are a lot more events to attend, more celebrations to be had and more bubbly to cheers to. That means there is a round of outfits to prepare for, from party dresses to Christmas jumpers to after work drinks. Before going into a complete meltdown, remember that you most likely have all the items you need in your (overflowing) wardrobe – you just have to search thoroughly for them. If not, head to the high street – or online – and get everything you need, but make sure you keep hold of everything for next year!

The work’s do is the event that everyone talks about in the office for at least a month before: what is everyone going to wear? Is anyone buying a new outfit? What shoes? Bag? Where are we heading? Etc. Etc. Everything is planned down to the minute detail and it’ll all get thrown out of the window, whilst drinks start flowing and the dancing shoes are firmly on. Something glitzy is always a win.

Festive meals and mulled wine mixed with prosecco or hot chocolate, depending on your preferences with alcohol and whether or not you are working the next day. Either way, getting dressed up for the occasion adds to the fun of an evening out with family, making memories and talking about the good old days. Keep it classic in a floaty dress (to hide that food baby) and keep yourself warm with a full length coat.

Is it really Christmas if there isn’t at least one night of wearing a Christmas jumper? I know that I’ll be wearing at least two after hours and God-knows-how-many during work. That means I should probably pick a few more up from the likes of Primark and ASDA if I’m shopping on a budget. But, I do love this one from River Island. Wearing a Christmas jumper is a tradition in every workplace and most households – dress it down with jeans but add a glitzy bag for a little bit of jazz.

Dresses aren’t for everyone, and it is minus freezing temperatures outside too. I’m not one for wearing tan tights. Ever. And so, it might be the better option to cover up a little more in the leg area. A jumpsuit is a gorgeous alternative and one that I always venture towards when I’m a little sick of wearing dresses all of the time. Combine the navy – black may be a tad too much – with pinks and purples and we have enough bursts of colour for the party season!

Whether you love to dress up or dress down, sometimes all you need is a simple dress. a leather jacket and a quirky pair of boots. Choosing deep and rich colours always reminds us of Christmas time, making this date a little bit more special and festive to the rest of the year.

I have to admit, all of these clothes, shoes and accessories are obviously pieces that I would incorporate into my own wardrobe. What would you wear to any of these occasions over the festive period? I’d love to see your options and style!

Love, Faye xo
