Things I’ve Learnt In 26 Years

What we learn with pleasure, we never forget – Alfred Mercier.

HAPPY 26TH BIRTHDAY TO ME!

It only seems fitting that I write this post for my birthday. Yes, it is another one of those [insert number of age here] things I’ve learnt which all bloggers love to write. But, this is with a little twist because I have written something which reflects each of my years. It was hard to think of things, especially for when I was younger, but then it didn’t seem that difficult once I began to reflect on my childhood and what things I learned, how I was treated and, most importantly, how much I was loved. I count myself extremely lucky.

It’s certainly been a rollercoaster of a life so far. I genuinely can’t believe the amount of things I have achieved and experienced in my life, and yeah, sometimes I might feel like I’m at a standstill, like everyone, but I am actually so happy right now. This time last year, my moods were all over the place; I wasn’t content in myself. Fast forward to now and I’m sunning it up in gorgeous Verona with my parents. I’m surrounded by amazing people, doing work that I thoroughly enjoy and have a load of passions that I adore. Life is good. Here’s to the next year!

I hope that you can take some of these things and think, yep, I ain’t alone in feeling like this.

– Shuffle Before You Can Crawl.

– You are loved in this world, more than you can ever imagine.

– Troubled twos are definitely a thing.

– You have to learn to share, even when you’re an only child.

– Cousins are siblings without the “sibling rivalry”.

– Books are the best kind of saviour a man, woman, or child, can have.

– People will come and go in life. You may be sad but it’ll make you stronger.

– Family are the people you want to be family.

– Computers really will take over the world one day.

– Always make time to have fun, no matter the cost.

– Saying goodbye is hard, but saying hello makes it all the better.

– Stick with your best friend. If you’re both good ones, you’ll be glued together for life.

– You won’t get along with some people. That is completely fine. Steer clear and focus on those you like.

– Be the tortoise, not the hare.

– The smallest of things can lead to the greatest of loves.

– Don’t grow up faster than you ought to.

– Being Sweet Sixteen isn’t like it is in the movies.

– You get over your first heartbreak quicker than you think.

– Fall in love without questioning it.

– If you put your mind to it, you can achieve anything.

– Make the right choice for you. Put yourself first.

– Living in a different country is both torturous and incredible.

– Work hard. Play harder.

– Fate has a funny way of falling on your doorstep.

– A solo adventure is what every person needs at least once in their life.

– You will get out of the worst six months ever.

– Live in the now. Who knows what is around the corner.

I hope you enjoyed this short but sweet post from me, and I hope you stick around to see what occurs in the next year. I don’t feel old enough to be 26.

Love, Faye xo
