Christmas With The Body Shop

If you think you’re too small to have an impact, try going to bed with a mosquito – Anita Roddick.

I feel so lucky to be a part of a community where I get to go and try out products of one of my absolute favourite brands whilst meeting and catching up with some of the loveliest people. It’s been almost a year since I first got invited to The Body Shop in Liverpool One. There, I learnt all about their brand new skincare range and took the plunge in spending quite a bit of money on products for myself. I loved each and every product; I was regiment in my routine, and I began to have a genuine love for a brand.

Fast-forward to now, I returned to The Body Shop for another blogger evening with Ryan and his team, who are all absolutely fantastic at what they do and super lovely too. This time, there was a festive twist as all the spotlight was on their new Christmas range, all of which looks and smells divine. There is a trio of Christmas ranges: Berry Bon Bon, Peppermint Candy Cane and Vanilla Marshmallow. In each, there are body butters, shower gels, hand creams, and more – perfect gifts for others, or yourself. Not only does each product smell glorious, the packaging is gorgeous too with classic green and red for Christmas fun and gold for that added glamour. Even if you didn’t wrap them up, they would fit perfectly under the Christmas tree.

Not only do they have new body ranges on offer this season, there are also special makeup products for the party season ahead. My favourites are the Pink Sparkler and Metallic Eye Liquid Metal. The fairy dust-like powder can be layered onto your skin or your hair for an extra dabble of shimmer. When I say it’s pretty much the perfect final touch for party season, I mean it. I used to have something similar when I was younger, but in the form of a powder brush. I loved making my skin sparkle; perhaps this is the grown-up version of it. The colours for the eye liquid are so bold and so powerful that it almost makes me feel like I’m not bold enough to wear them myself. Nevertheless, there are two looks you can opt for here. One is straight from the applicator for that extra sass on a night out. Second, you can apply the colour with a brush for a more subtle look. Mix and match all three colours for an incredible effect. I think I may treat myself for New Year’s Eve!

In terms of gifting this year, The Body Shop have upped their game in the environmentally friendly kind. Packaging has gone down a heck of a lot; I can’t remember the exact sizing but I know that it will help drastically with keeping this world spinning green and blue. They’ve also gotten their FairTrade community stamp on pretty much all of the products, especially the gents’ gifts. I love this touch; it completely sold me to the Christmas items for men. Every single item has a unique handkerchief that has been made from a woman’s sari across the globe. The company who makes these exquisite, unique items fairly pay their workers and the women who’s saris are used. I’m just completely obsessed with the idea. It’s an incredible gift and even better, it has come from an organically sourced home who help aid poverty across the ocean.

In terms of this season’s charity, the hashtag is #enchantedbynature. The Body Shop is helping the world by donating a percentage of every single product you buy between 1st November and 31st December to the World Land Trust and Woodland Trust who are helping to protect and re-wild over ten million square metres of forest in England and Armenia. I think that’s incredible and more stores need to do something similar to make a difference to the world.

As always, I treated myself to some products (I helped donate to the World Land Trust!) and spent money I didn’t particularly have, but I vow by The Body Shop products and I would rather shop there than anywhere else.

Have you bought anything from The Body Shop lately?

Love, Faye xo
