Beautiful skin requires commitment, not a miracle – Erno Lazlo.
How much do I agree with that statement? If you’d asked me this even a couple of months ago, I would have said I’m pretty lucky to have the skin that I have because I don’t really do much to it on a continuous daily basis. Now? I am fully committed to my skin looking and feeling its best. I’m borderline obsessed with it at the moment, but there are far worse things to obsess over in the current climate.
My daily skincare routine has three stages because I have three stages of my day right now: wake-up, post-workout and bedtime. I cleanse, moisturise and put SPF on in the morning. After my work out is when I get a shower, so I need to wash the lovely sweat off my face. Then bedtime is the usual quick skincare routine because, let’s face it, I’m still a lazy person who will get away with doing as little as possible, hoping for the best results. It’s a Taurus thing, apparently. Plus, I need sleep.
GARNIER SKINACTIVE MICELLAR CLEANSING WATER – COMBINATION & OILY SKIN
Quick and easy to use. I probably should double cleanse, especially of an evening, but I don’t. My skin feels completely refreshed after a quick wipe and to be honest, most mornings, I’m quite happy to use this alone and get on with my day. I use it before bed too (mostly) and my skin feels clean and ready for rest. The 400ml bottle says there are 200 uses, but I’m not so sure. Sometimes a bottle can last me months and months and other times I feel like I’ve hardly used it.
THE BODY SHOP VITAMIN C GLOW BOOSTING MOISTURISER
This has been my most-used product from The Body Shop in the past few months. I cannot express how much this little tub of happiness makes my skin feel after a quick moisturise. The zesty smell is addictive and it definitely brightens dull, tired and grumpy skin. Believe me, I am tired and this product just wakes me up. I highly recommend using when hungover (unless you’ve been drinking Sex on the Beaches all night or some other orange and alcohol concoction) because it will help you feel fresher than you actually are. I use this, among others, before I go to bed too. Quick and easy. I think, there’s a theme here…
THE BODY SHOP SKIN DEFENCE MULTI-PROTECTION LOTION
I know, I know. Late to the wear SPF every single day game. Sun cream for me strictly correlated with sunshine destinations and even there, I’d try to get away with not bothering. Mistake. I love wearing this SPF 50 by The Body Shop (and I should do considering the amount of time I had to wait for it whilst it was out of stock!). It helps combat every kind of skin pollution and it has made my skin look and feel fresher and healthier since I started using it two months ago. If Caroline Hirons recommends it, you know it’s going to be good. The only negative point I have to make is that I have to drag it across my skin too much so that it rubs in properly. Other than that, it’s a winning product and I will be repurchasing immediately when it runs out.
THE BODY SHOP HIMALAYAN CHARCOAL PURIFYING CLAY WASH
This is a first impressions recommendation because I’ve only used it twice so I can only tell you about its immediate effects on my skin. Oh my god, thank god I have amazing friends who know me so well when it comes to skincare. I’m not a face wash kinda girl, that extra twenty seconds in the shower is apparently too long for me sometimes, but this is a game-changer. I used it for the first time on Wednesday after my workout and my skin felt so, so soft afterwards. I couldn’t believe it. It’s a little early evening pick-me-up for my face at the moment and will quickly turn into a necessity for my daily skincare routine over the coming months.
So there are four skincare products that I’m using every single day at the moment. My skin is in such an amazing place right now. Daily exercise and keeping on top of my water intake definitely helps with that too. I just need to be mindful of my food choices. I’ve finally – after many years of hoping for one – found a skincare routine that I enjoy.
What skincare products are you loving at the moment?

P.S. This is not in any way gifted or sponsored, I just adore The Body Shop. I have been to press evenings and received gifted products in the past, but every item here has been paid for by myself or gifted by a friend.
